Cable network Starz has begun airing The Pillars of the Earth, an eight-part mininseries based on the best-selling novel by Ken Follet. The complete series (totaling 480 minutes) will be released on DVD later this year (pre-orders are now being taken but no release date is listed) at the retail cost of $69.95 (which seems an exorbitant amount for eight sixty-minute episodes).
